My Mountain Data

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Information the site may handle

My Mountain Data does not ask visitors to create accounts or submit names, email addresses, or payment details. The hosting provider and public data services may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser and device details, the page requested, and request time, in service or security logs.

Some pages request public weather, river, or snow data directly from third-party providers. Those providers may receive technical request information from your browser and handle it under their own privacy policies. Links to outside websites also take you to services governed by their own terms and privacy policies. See Data sources and update details.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic and interactions. The standard implementation may collect page and session statistics, approximate location, and browser and device information. Google Analytics uses a first-party _ga cookie to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google says Analytics does not log or store IP addresses in Analytics data. See Google’s Analytics data collection details.

This Analytics tag is used for measurement. Google AdSense and other advertising tags are not enabled by this change. If advertising is enabled later, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads; this notice will be updated to describe those services. Visitors can manage Google personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings; available choices may vary by location and browser.

For details about Google's use of data on partner sites, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Applicable consent requirements and choices depend on the visitor’s location and the services actually enabled.

Your choices

You can use browser settings to limit or remove cookies. You can also opt out of Google Analytics measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Where applicable law requires consent before analytics storage, the site must obtain that consent before measurement begins. Blocking other requests may affect live data features.

Changes

This policy may be updated when site features or service providers change. The revision date above indicates the latest update shown on this page. Please review the sources page for information about the external data providers used by this site.
